Metec marked its fifth anniversary with great pride. Five years of dedication have seen the company grow from a startup to a recognized leader in sheet metal equipment manufacturing.
Five Years of Building Excellence
November 2020 marked Metec's fifth anniversary — a moment to reflect on the journey from a small team with a bold vision to a company that has delivered over 1,000 machines to customers in more than 30 countries.
Where We Started
Metec was founded in 2015 by a team of engineers who believed that Chinese sheet metal equipment could compete with European quality at a fraction of the price. The early years were challenging: establishing quality management systems, building supplier relationships, and earning the trust of demanding customers.
Our first product was a simple open-table fiber laser cutting machine. It wasn't the most advanced machine on the market, but it was reliable, well-supported, and priced competitively. Word spread, and orders followed.
Key Milestones
2015: Company founded, first laser cutting machine delivered
2016: First export order (Southeast Asia)
2017: Press brake product line launched
2018: First European customer
2019: R&D team expanded to 50 engineers
2020: 1,000th machine delivered, 5th anniversary celebration
Our People
None of this would have been possible without our team. We grew from 30 employees in 2015 to over 300 in 2020, with the majority being engineers and skilled technicians. We are proud of our low employee turnover — many of our founding team members are still with us today.
Looking to the Next Five Years
As we celebrate our fifth anniversary, we are already planning for the next chapter. Our goals for 2025 include:
- Expanding our product range to include automated bending cells
- Establishing service centers in Europe and Southeast Asia
- Achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification for our new manufacturing facility
- Delivering our first 30kW laser cutting machine
